Project STARCROSS

A semi-secret United Nations Security Council project, Project STARCROSS was designed to gather intelligence about other worlds, other dimensions, and other times. It's mission is to detect and counter any threat to Earth from any non-conventional source. Often these threats are located offworld but many also manifest right here on "our" Earth.

Project STARCROSS consists of 8 officers and 101 enlisted men, as well as 100 civilian personnel. STARCROSS can field 6 recon teams at any given time, although normally no more than 4 are active at once. Project STARCROSS is officially based at Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The STARCROSS Command Center is located at the new, top secret "Cheyenne II" facility.

STARCROSS reports directly to UNSECSOC (United Nations Security Council Special Operations Command) and operates at an authority level one higher than that of UNTIL. STARCROSS has authority to operate in any UN-member's jurisdiction.

The Project STARCROSS motto is "Ecce Terra Incognito" which means "Behold unknown lands!"

Project 451

Project 451 is the brainchild of Dr. Jon Jamison, the founder of Project STARCROSS. During several early STARCROSS reconaissance missions, the teams returned with what were termed ORPHANS. The ORPHANS were people who left behind their own worlds, times, etc., to come to Earth for various reasons.

The first ORPHAN was a twelve year old girl who appeared to be the lone survivor of a war-ravaged alternate Earth. Dr Jamison, who led the recon team, could not bring himself to leave her behind and brought her back to his own Earth with the team. He adopted and raised the girl who is now 20 and is Dr. Jamison's assistant and protege'.

Over time as other ORPHANS were brought back (via widely varying circumstances) some were discovered to have various "super powers". Eventually Dr. Jamison was approached by UNTIL who had also located several super-powered individuals here on Earth who were in need of a "home". In response to this, and the recent loss of several STARCROSS teams, Dr. Jamison founded Project 451, which was designed to give a home to the super-orphans and also to provide a high-powered team for the STARCROSS missions which were now deemed too risky for their "conventional" teams. The new team is designated as STARCROSS 451.

After 5 years of being the leader of Project STARCROSS, Dr. Jamison has decided to move into a different role, that of Project Scientific Lead. Now 60 and too old to participate in ongoing field missions, Dr. Jamison is now second in command of the Project. He remains the science lead and the direct commander of STARCROSS 451 which reports directly to him. The new project STARCROSS commander, General Alexander, is a hard-core military man who frequently is at odds with Dr. Jamison, although they manage to work together & get the job done. The third-in-command of STARCROSS is Colonel Taylor, another military man and the Project's top field officer.

STARCROSS 451 has just been assembled by Dr. Jamison. The idea is build the members into a cohesive team well before using them in the full field missions.
