A Few Words on the Modifiers
These sort of modifiers are difficult to quantify into an exact number.
They should be used as a general guideline ONLY. A player should know what
these modifiers are but should never count on being able to add up everything
& have that number stand as Law.
Some of these numbers are can be debated, probably endlessly. Most of
the modifiers for any given factor are themselves dependent on other factors.
The more you understand the realities of hitting a target with a gun the
more you realize that there are hundreds of variables. You could probably
fill a page with shotgun modifiers alone. There's just way too much to
go into, so I use the numbers above as a starting place and a general guideline.
Some of the modifiers shown will take extra time- a laser sight for
example usually takes longer to use than plain iron sights. Scopes can
make target acquisition difficult and time consuming, especially at short
ranges, in effect becoming more of a hinderance than an aid.
